Intelligent Instrumentation releases the LANpoint 7 vehicle-mount data collection terminal

Vehicle-mount LANpoint 7

The new LANpoint 7 vehicle-mount computers include the Windows CE.NET operating system running on an Intel® X-Scale® processor. Their waterproof, dustproof cases easily handle dusty, dirty, or spray down environments. The new LANpoint 7 computers are powered by an Intel® XScale® 400MHz RISC processor, provide non-volatile storage expandable to 500MB, have standard IEEE802.11b/g wireless connectivity, are RoHS compliant, and for reliability purposes, have no moving parts. LANpoint 7 computers retain popular features of the older LANpoint CE.NET computers while incorporating improvements that customers suggested.  These improvements include a lower price and many hardware and software enhancements:

Now an adult, the TM8501 terminal turns 21!

oldest and newest generations - advancing technology in prompt/response data collection applications

Happy Birthday!

TM8501 released 1986 - serial multi-drop

LANpoint PLUS released 2004 - WinCE Ethernet

The TM8501, first designed and built in 1986 by Intelligent Instrumentation’s prior parent, the Burr-Brown Corporation, is still performing the same useful functions in many factories, warehouses, and service industries: Tracking products, labor, and processes during production and service-related activities in manufacturing and distribution companies worldwide.  It has had a few form- fit- and function-neutral design changes -- in order to replace obsolete components -- but it has lasted so well over the years, that companies still purchase it for legacy system expansions and for drop-in replacements.

The small and functional TM8501 housing is practically timeless - two subsequent generations of advancing functionality (DOS/Ethernet & Windows CE/Ethernet/WiFi) have been built into the same enclosure, providing increasing performance and decreasing ownership costs for typical prompt/response data collection applications.

Intelligent Instrumentation bucks the short product life trend in the electronics industry by manufacturing terminals for decades.  Products, with associated service and support, are available for the long haul.  The bottom line is that customers, OEMs, and VARs can continually receive value for years ...

Serial Terminals

Microterminal operator interface terminal family

CTM100/CTM200 microterminals

CTM300 full keyboard microterminal

And, speaking of serially-connected terminals, Intelligent Instrumentation produces a line of small, inexpensive, text-based operator interface terminals.

These 'microterminals' come with various size/types of keyboards and displays for applications that require operator interaction but do not require barcode data input

These terminals are used in many applications that require economical operator key input and/or operator text feedback.  They are incorporated as machine control panels  in many installations - from cryogenic equipment to printing presses to copy machines and much more.

Available in RS232 point-to-point models to addressable multi-drop RS422 "bus" type serial communications, if you have a need for simple operator input and output, check-out these terminals at http://www.instrument.com/oem-hmi-terminals.html

Communication Outage

Telephone and e-mail service restored

If you tried and failed to get in touch with us between Christmas and New Year's day, please try again.  We're here, and back in touch!

Utility work near our factory disrupted our telephone service and e-mail delivery on December 27 and December 28.  It got mighty quiet around here.

If you called, you probably heard a busy signal.  Hey, we're busy - but not busy enough to allow your calls to go unanswered!

Call us - as usual, you'll talk to a real person, immediately.  Whether you need product information, a quote, technical support, or whatever, we're here.
